YOUR DONATION MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
Upcoming Projects
Thanks to donors like you, we are planning to continue the renovations of the Retreat Center guest room windows. It is our goal to complete the rest of the Retreat Center guest rooms which will greatly improve the experiences of all of our campers, guests, volunteers, and staff.
The floor of the Dining Hall is in severe need of refinishing. Our contractor is impressed with the quality of the wood of the original floor, but as it was added on to in the 70’s and 80’s (and the original building was built before 1945!), the floor needs some love. Through your gifts, we will be able to maintain this amazing space for years to come.

Aldersgate continues to provide camp experiences through camperships to campers who would not otherwise be able to afford camp. Aldersgate’s staff and board has committed to assisting families and through the generous gifts from donors like you, 79 campers were able to come to camp through this program.
2019 Facilities Improvements
Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, Aldersgate has made great strides in improving the experiences of campers and guests. Most recently, we have replaced the windows of three South Wing guest rooms. These new windows will keep the rooms warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. We also renovated the Dining Hall bathrooms this spring. Due to water damage, the floors of both bathrooms needed to be replaced. Volunteers from Johnson & Wales University were able to replace and upgrade the handwashing sinks as well. Lastly, the Camp Aldersgate bell has been mounted and run for the first time in almost 40 years! Through NOMADS volunteers and donors like you, we were able to design and construct a small belltower which called all campers to meals for the first time since the 80’s.
Immigrant/Refugee Campership Initiative
The Aldersgate board has identified children of immigrants and refugees as an underrepresented population at Aldersgate and aimed to provide a sacred and safe space for these children to grow in faith and friendship. Through work with community partners and generous donors, 6 children of immigrants and refugees attended Aldersgate during the summer of 2019. So far, Aldersgate has provided camp experiences to children of immigrants or refugees from Columbia, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Ghana, and Uganda. This program is only possible through your generous donations. Please help support this program expand into the future.

Staff Scholarships
This summer, donors supported young leaders by gifting over $2,000 in college scholarships to Aldersgate summer staff. These staff expressed their experiences living in Christian community through essay, music, and video testimonials. In 2018, donors identified leadership development as a key area of support. In order to facilitate that goal, Aldersgate set up staff scholarships. This summer, staff responded to the prompt question, “How has living in Christian community affected you?”
