A sacred space, empowering all,
in faith and friendship to change the world
OUR TEAM
John has a long history with Aldersgate, which spans almost twenty years as a camper, volunteer, and staff member, including Adventure Director and full-time Program Director for two years. He has been leading Aldersgate as Executive Director since December 2017.

John earned his Bachelor Degree in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island with a minor in International Development. As part of his collegiate experience, he spent time working for a non-profit in Kenya, which equipped HIV+ farmers with skills to generate income. He brought that experience back to Aldersgate to create a global village/social justice emphasis to the summer program.

John has a passion for adventure/outdoor education and social justice programming:
“Aldersgate provides opportunities for campers to unplug, reconnect with nature, and understand the way human rights are manifested every day in both big and small ways. The cornerstone of the Aldersgate experience is creating a sacred, safe place for people to grow in their faith and their relationships with others.”

John is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island. He grew up at Asbury United Methodist in Warwick, RI and is currently an active member of the East Greenwich United Methodist Church. He also serves as the Vice President of the Rhode Island Association of Camps (RIAC) and is directly responsible for organizing state-wide staff professional development and tracking legislation that affects summer camps. John met his wife, Rikki, while they were working on summer staff together in 2010. They were married at Aldersgate in October 2013. While not at camp, they spend their time volunteering, hiking, and traveling.

MEGAN LYNCH
Assistant Director - Day Camp
Megan started at Aldersgate in 2010 as an international counselor from Northern Ireland. She served on seasonal staff for four summers and is now back full time!

Megan has a passion for child development and has worked with children for over ten years in day cares, general education, and behavioral schools.
"Every child needs to have the opportunity to come to camp so they can experience nature and connect with people they wouldn't normally learn more about."

Megan and her husband live onsite with their two daughters who love camp just as much as she does!
BUD GEARY
Maintenance Director
Bud brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Aldersgate! He joined the team in 2012 and became the Maintenance Director in 2013.
Throughout the summer, Bud manages the maintenance staff and keep the grounds beautiful and the facilities safe and efficient for our staff and campers. During the year, he continues to maintain and continually upgrade our facilities. He also leads the NOMADs and other volunteer groups who come to Aldersgate to give their time and skills to camp.
