OUR TEAM
Scott James-Vickery brings more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, education, and ministry to Camp Aldersgate. Throughout his career, Scott has worked with children and young people of all ages and abilities and has been committed to creating communities rooted in faith, belonging, and service.
A proud father of six, Scott’s connection to Aldersgate is also deeply personal. He first came to know the camp through his daughter, who attended as a camper and later became a member of the summer staff. Scott began serving as Aldersgate’s chaplain in 2024, and through those summers, he quickly fell in love with the camp community, its mission, and the sense of welcome that makes Aldersgate so special.
Scott brings a passion for camp ministry along with experience in leadership, fundraising, financial stewardship, and organizational management. He is especially grateful for the opportunity to help steward Aldersgate’s mission and create a space where young people can grow in faith, build lasting friendships, discover who they are, and know they are loved.
Abby James-Vickery
Assistant Director
Abby is a lifelong United Methodist and long-time member of the Camp Aldersgate family. Abby learned about Aldersgate through a Living Arts volunteer and attended in 2017. After attending as a camper, Abby became a CIT and later joined the summer staff.
She is the oldest of six siblings and brings a unique blend of humor and compassion, along with a passion for justice and helping others. She is currently pursuing her MSW at Marist University.
When not at camp, you can find her exploring new places and meeting new people. Aldersgate’s values have helped shape so much of Abby’s faith and commitment to others, and she looks forward to passing that on to a new generation of campers and staff.
