In the Bible verse Micah 6:8, we are instructed to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. At first, it may seem simple, after all, we all want to be good people. But how can we truly live out these values in such a chaotic world?

Being at Camp Aldersgate makes that possible for me. Even with the challenges, and ups and downs, I find here a place where I can disconnect from the noisy world and reconnect with my faith and God, with nature and spirituality. This place strengthens me and reminds me that even when we fail, we have another chance and we can keep walking together, learning, supporting each other, and growing in faith.

Every Morning Worship and evening Faith Chat, teaches me something new. A lesson, a reflection, a calling to become a better person. Here, I realize that small actions make a big difference. Here, we plant seeds of kindness that blossom in the children’s lives, friendship and even during simple daily tasks.

Aldersgate is a sacred place, because it is a refuge for me. And it shows us a world where everyone has a voice, where we can fight for our rights, live justl, and be accepted as we are, regardless of nationality, race, gender, or identity. It is a place that teaches us that everyone deserves respect and belonging no matter what.

However, walking humby is not an easy task. As human beings we are imperfect and we make mistakes. True humility is in acknowledging that, in knowing that we are not better than anyone else, and that everyone deserves another chance. When we walk humbly with God, we learn to forgive, to have faith, and to build a more just world, one step at a time.

This is what Camp Aldersgate represents and teaches me, and the reason why I come back. Because here I learn and experience things no money could buy. That being said and with everything I’ve lived and learned here, I want to keep growing as a person, become a better human being, and spread these learnings by helping others around the world wherever I go, I will never forget it.
