About Us

Lake Aldersgate at sundown. With over 200 acres of woods, trails, a private lake, and beautiful facilities, you can find space to relax, have fun, and renew your spirit at Camp Aldersgate. Whether you come for camp, a retreat, or another event, Aldersgate offers you the opportunity to discover all of the wonderful things that God has created. Wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, herons, turtles, fish, and countless other creatures make their home in our woods and lake. New saplings and tall pines greet you as you walk our trails and hear the wind sing through the forest.

Aldersgate has quiet spots for meditation and busy spots for games, campfires, or walking with friends. On calm mornings, sit by Lake Aldersgate and see it reflect the world in its waters. Later, take a relaxing paddle in a canoe or kayak and explore our lake — and yourself — in its waters. Build a campfire and learn new songs and sing old favorites while the fire dances and keeps you warm.

Stay in the silence of the woods or join your group in front of the majestic stone fireplace in our rustic Retreat Center. Stay in one of a wide variety of facilities — from old-fashioned tent camping, to three-sided shelters, to waterfront cabins, to our lakeside Retreat Center.

Our summer programs provide special experiences for children, youth, adults, and families, giving all the chance to grow in exciting and different ways. Campers make new friends and learn more about themselves in the process. They learn to worship, sing, and gain new understanding of their faith. They learn about living outdoors, challenge themselves to do new things, enjoy swimming and canoeing, and learn to conserve natural resources. At camp youth learn to explore their own gifts while living in community that teaches them to respect others that are different while expressing themselves in a safe and fun environment.

Aldersgate is accredited by the American Camp Association, your assurance of the highest camp standards, and is a member of the Rhode Island Association of Camps and subscribes to its principles of operations. If you'd like to learn more about us, call, email, or come for a visit.
